Sean Bignold studied architecture at The University of Liverpool before moving to Berlin and completing his Diploma at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee (KHB). During his time there he was involved in a wide range of projects including the fx Centre, a high-end post-production centre and studios on the historical site of the Babelsberg Film Studios; the Museums Ensemble for Brandenburg-Prussian History in Potsdam; the headquarters for the Federal Health Federations in Berlin; and a number of commissions for private houses and retail environments.
Sean worked at Flanagan Lawrence from 2005 and was made Associate in 2010 where he was responsible for the design and coordination of a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, industrial and large-scale mixed-use and masterplanning projects. Notable projects include Caldecott Square, Rugby – an innovative hotel and office development; 103 Colmore Row, Birmingham – a landmark office development for British Land; Apartments, commercial space and community facilities at 6-16 Melior Street, SE1; high-end apartments at 66 Porchester Road, W2 and the gateway office building for the Slough Trading Estate at 234 Bath Road.
