Sofia Karim trained at the University of Edinburgh and at the Bartlett (UCL), where she won the Bannister Fletcher medal for first place in Diploma.
As a student, she worked for Peter Eisenman Architects in New York before returning to London to join Foster and Partners in 1997. Over nine years she worked on projects ranging from the Al-Faisaliah tower in Riyadh and the Selfridges store in London to the masterplan for City Hall, home to the London Mayor and Assembly. Other projects included high specification offices at Tower Place, bespoke financiers’ offices at Stornoway House and a luxury residential development at Chesham Place.
Sofia’s portfolio after her move to Flanagan Lawrence Architects (formerly Hamiltons) in 2006 incorporated The Aviator Hotel at Farnborough Airfield, a luxury residential development in Belgravia‘s Grosvenor Crescent, a private house in Belgravia and interior design for apartments in the Shard.
Sofia joined Doone Silver Kerr in October 2013 and at present works as a consultant with the practice.Back to People
